Accessibility

Accessibility statement

Tournament days involve volunteers, officials and families using whatever device they have. We want Bowin to work for all of them.

What we build in

  • A "Skip to content" link and one main heading per screen
  • A label on every form field, and descriptive names on per-row buttons
  • Keyboard focus moves to the new heading when you change screens, and to the confirm button when confirming
  • Status messages are announced to screen readers
  • Visible focus outlines, text colours chosen to meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast, and touch targets at least 44 pixels high
  • Layouts that fit a 320-pixel-wide phone without sideways scrolling
  • Reduced motion when your device asks for it
  • Printed bracket sheets and tables with proper headers

How we test

Automated checks run on every change: colour contrast of the design tokens, and browser journeys that check keyboard focus, labels and phone widths.

Known gaps

  • Bowin hasn't had an independent accessibility audit, so we don't claim formal conformance with WCAG 2.2.
  • Brackets on public results don't yet draw connecting lines between rounds.
  • Public results don't update on their own; reload to see new results.

Report a barrier

If something in Bowin is hard or impossible to use, email cameron@ashbi.ca with the page and what happened. We'll reply and tell you what we can change.
