Help
How can we help?
Quick answers for organizing teams. Can't find yours? Email cameron@ashbi.ca.
Families: questions about an entry or result go to the tournament organizer.
Getting in
How do I get started?
Create your organization with your name, organization and email. Open the link we email you to confirm the address and choose your password. The link works once and expires after 24 hours.
How do I sign in?
Go to the sign-in page and use the email and password you chose when you created your organization or accepted your invitation.
I forgot my password.
Choose "Forgot password?" on the sign-in page. We email a link that works once and expires after an hour. If the option isn't there, email isn't switched on for this site; contact us.
My invitation link doesn't work.
Invitation links work once and expire after 24 hours. Ask an owner to send a new one from the Team screen.
Why was I signed out?
Sessions end after 12 hours, and changing your password signs out your other devices.
Before the event
How do I take registrations online?
Open your tournament's Registration screen and fill in Online registration settings: the open and close dates, events offered, an optional cap, your fee note and waiver. Turn it on and share the registration link. New entries appear under Online entries for you to accept or reject.
Which spreadsheet formats can I import?
.xlsx, .xlsm and .csv files up to 5 MB. Older .xls files and password-protected workbooks need to be saved as .xlsx first. Download the example CSV from the Registration screen to see the columns Bowin looks for.
Some rows need fixing. What now?
The preview lists each row and what's missing: usually gender, age, belt, a dan for black belts, or which events the competitor entered. Fix them in your spreadsheet and preview again.
Can I change how divisions are suggested?
Yes. Open "Edit rules" on the Divisions screen to change age bands, belt groups, weight splits and division sizes. You can always go back to the standard rules.
Can I change divisions after the event starts?
Import, rule changes and new divisions stop once the first score is recorded. After that, use the late-change tools: withdraw, reinstate, move, late entry, merge or close as uncontested.
On the day
Why can't I generate a bracket?
Every active entrant in the division must be checked in first. Withdraw anyone who isn't coming, then generate.
I entered the wrong score.
In Scoring, choose "Review score correction" for the recorded bout or patterns score. Enter the replacement score or choose to reopen it, give a reason, and preview the impact before confirming. Ask an organizer to review changes that affect later results, linked finals or a completed event.
Why does a final say qualification pending?
A source result changed, so the previous final result is under review. An organizer opens "Review qualification" in Scoring, checks the current qualifiers and any tied choice or explicit reinstatement, then previews and confirms the resolution. Each affected linked final needs its own review.
My score correction did not confirm.
Use "Refresh tournament" to check whether it was saved before trying again. Reconnecting or refreshing does not submit the correction again. If it was not saved, review the current result and confirm a fresh preview.
A ring is running behind. What can I do?
Open the Rings board to see how far behind each ring is. Organizers can move a division, or the rest of that ring's queue, to another ring in one step; Bowin refuses a move that would clash.
How do I print bracket sheets?
Use "Print sheet" on a division in Scoring. On the sheet page, choose "Refresh and print" to check current results before opening the print dialog. Bracket sheets use legal-size landscape paper; running orders use letter-size portrait paper. Replace printed sheets after results change.
How do families see results?
Choose "Publish results" on the Results screen and share the link. Choose "Withdraw public results" to take the page down.
